This is a great amortization calculator. Plug in the loan amount, interest rate and term, and it calculates every every single payment broken down by principle and interest. But that isn't the best part. Let's say that you determine that you can pay a little bit extra each month towards your principle. Just plug in that extra amount along with the loan amount, interest and term and this cool spread sheet recalculates every payment and shows you the new breakdown every month and the new payoff date of your loan. And that's not all. Let's say you can't make an extra principle payment every month. But you can make the occasional extra payment. Just plug in the amount of your extra payment in the month that you make it, and the entire amortization schedule is recalculated to show the new monthly breakdown, new end date and the new total interest paid.
I don't know about your mortgage company or bank, but mine wants $29 evey time I asked for an amortization schedule. Plus everytime I made an extral payment the amortization schedule from the bank became obsolete. Now I can plan and watch my loan disappear and run the amortization as many times as I want. This is a must have for anybody concerned about the cost of a loan. It can be used on any type of simple interest loan, car, home equity etc.
This spreadsheet requires MS Excel to run. It can be yours for only $8.00. Upon notification that payment has been received, I will email the file to you as an attachment. If you would like the file on a CD, it is only $18.00 shipping included to the continental US.
